Head coach of Young Apostles FC Kenny Nyaaba detailed his plans for the upcoming 2022/23 National Division One League (DOL) season. The celebrated tactician explained his coaching philosophy, tactical plans and expectations in his maiden season with the Apostles. The interactive Questions and Answer session is seen below :
Question: What is your Coaching Philosophy as a manager ?
Answer :
Thank you for this question. Well my coaching philosophy is different from my playing philosophy so kindly permit me time to explain the two because they go in tandem. My coaching philosophy is aimed at creating a friendly family environment where the players, coaching staff and everyone involved in the team are closely knitted to achieve our goals. I do this using 9 key principles which are: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humbleness and self discipline. I am a Christian so my Christian values form the foundation of my coaching philosophy.
My playing model or philosophy is based on total football or positional play which is based on creating different kinds of superiority on the field. I want my team to be the best in passing possession and aggressive pressing without the ball winning the ball back very quickly. I share the same philosophy with Jimmy Hogan, Jack Reynolds, Michel Rinus Johann cruyff pep Guardiola and Pitso Mosimane that’s my football lineage.
Question: What are your plans for the 2022/23 Football Season?
Answer :
As part of our plans for the upcoming season we will begin pre season training on Monday 5th of September. I want to focus on developing the players physical conditioning such as endurance strength and speed. Then will proceed to technical and tactical training where I want to roll out a clear tactical plan so the entire team will have a full grasp of what is expected of them in all the moments of the game.
Question: Any Special Target For the Season ?
Answer :
Well the Bible says in Colossians 1:18 that Christ is first in everything and as a follower of Jesus my God I must also be first in all the competitions I participate in the up coming season so that’s my target for the season.
Question: How do you rate the rate the Quality of Players in the Team ?
Answer :
The team I have inherited is not bad though there will never be enough of quality players. With the playing style I want to implement I believe the quality of players I have now is good but we will have to strengthen certain positions more.
Question: How are you going to Improve The Current Crop of Players ?
Answer :
As I already said earlier I want to be first in every competition I participate and since becoming first in our zone will lead me to premier and as long as the Lord Jesus is with me in this club God’s name will be glorified so I have a burning desire to take the team to premier next season.
Question: Premier League Qualification Plans Or Player Development?
Answer :
My game model will improve every single player in the team because I train them to fit well in all the major leagues in Europe.
