Match Report : Baffoe’s Strike Maintains Perfect Start To Season

Sunyani based Young Apostles FC maintained their 100 percent winning start to the 2022/23 season in a tight 1-0 triumph over Berekum Arsenal FC.

The water tight Apostles kept their second straight clean sheet from two attempts to surge top of the table.

Head coach David Kebule Nyaaba named a strong line up for the regional derby with captain Kwodwo Ofosu stamping his authority as usual.

Kwame Larbi, Latif Ansah and Isaac Baffoe all kept their places in the derby clash that has Galley Divine, Mohammed Moftaw and Henry Akwasi bossing affairs from the centre of the pitch.

Young Apostles, fresh from their opening day away win in the season, dared their guest with a blistering start to the game.

It nearly paid of when Latif Ansah teed up Kwame Larbi in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Forest of legs and agile goalkeeping from Jarkwei Ebenezer denied the host a deserved opener.

The visitors then responded with complete team move only for Richard Achiaw to tame the danger.

The well composed strike proved to be the only goal of the game as the two sides battled it for regional pride in the last few minutes.

The 1-0 win ensured Young Apostles FC becomes the first club from zone one to win two straight matches.
